Sk. Dash et al., MODIFICATION OF T21 GLOBAL CIRCULATION MODEL FOR IMPLEMENTATION ON PARALLEL-PROCESSING SYSTEM, Indian journal of radio & space physics, 22(4), 1993, pp. 225-229
The computational demands in the field of weather prediction and clima
te studies are very large, but it is difficult to buy many supercomput
ers in the country because of financial constraints. A global weather
model has been modified for its implementation on 16 processors of par
allel processing system (PPS) developed by C-DOT, Bangalore. It is fou
nd that the performance of the model on PPS is about 8 times slower th
an on CRAY-XMP 216 with one CPU in the case of 10-day integration.
