A new coumarin, isoarnottinin, and two new glucosides of isoarnottinin
were isolated from the fruits of Ammi majus and characterized. Moreov
er, seven known coumarins, scopoletin, 2''-acetoxy-3''-hydroxy-3''-met
hylbutoxy)psoralen, 8-hydroxy-5-methoxypsoralene, apiumetin, dihydroxa
nthyletin, lomatin and ammirol, as well as oleanolic acid and mannitol
were found. Their structures were elucidated mainly on the basis of o
ne- and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy.
