Abstract
The crystal structure of metastable tetragonal zirconia prepared by th e alkoxide method without any dopant has been examined by neutron diff raction at room temperature. The lattice parameters of this sample wer e a = 0.3591 +/- 0.0001 nm and c = 0.5169 +/- 0.0001 nm. The oxygen io ns are shifted from their lattice sites in the [001] direction with a magnitude of DELTA/c = 0.046 +/- 0.004.
