Abstract
The electrochemical determination of iron in doped YBaCuO superconduct ing compounds has been investigated by differential pulse polarography (SMDE) and by differential pulse voltammetry using a glassy carbon el ectrode. A well-defined peak for iron was observed at -0.15 V (vs. Ag- AgCl) reference electrode in sodium citrate/EDTANa2H2 pH 6. The electr ochemical results have been validated by spectroscopic procedures, inc luding atomic absorption and energy dispersion X-ray spectroscopy. The differential pulse polarography using the standard addition method fo r peak validation has been found to be most appropriate.
