Abstract
Large high-quality KTP crystals are grown from a high-temperature solu tion (the flux method). The laser damage threshold for these crystals is measured to be 3-3.5 GW/cm(2) for 1.064-mu m light and 2.5-3 GW/cm( 2) for 0.532-mu m light. The damage thresholds and second-harmonic-gen eration conversion efficiency are comparable with and higher than thos e for hydrothermally grown KTP, respectively.
