Abstract
Based on Misawa's theoretical work on microwave p(+)-i-n(+) diode, thi s paper carries a detail theoretical study regarding the frequency tun ing of an optically illuminated Impatt diode oscillator. The phenomeno n of optical injection locking of the avalanche diode oscillator has a lso been addressed. Theoretical results explain different observations on optical control of Impact oscillators.
