Abstract
Thermoluminescence (TL) and TL spectra of pure and vanadium doped alum ina powders have been studied. Samples showed glow peaks at 104, 156, 210, 296 and 400 degrees C. Doping with vanadium neither produced any new glow peak nor showed preferential enhancement of any one of the fi ve glow peaks of undoped sample. But extra emission bands in the wavel ength region 500-610 mm have been observed for the first four glow pea ks. The extra emission bands due to doping seem to be related either t o F+ or impurity centres.
