Fa. Nava et M. Gerder, DETECTION OF ENZYMATIC POLYMORPHISM IN 5 SESAME VARIETIES (SESAMUM-INDICUM L) USING ISOELECTRIC-FOCUSING AND DISC GEL-ELECTROPHORESIS, Oleagineux, 48(8-9), 1993, pp. 365-372
In order to identify varieties through isozyme using isoelectric focus
ing and/or disc gel electrophoresis, a study to detect polymorphism in
five varieties of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) for acid phosphatase, e
sterase D, esterase A, esterase B, malate dehidrogenase, peroxidase an
d isocitrate lyase was carried out. Protein extract from seeds or leav
es of 7, 14 and 21 days after emergency were used. Phenotypic variatio
n was found only for seed extract. There were polymorphisms in all enz
ymes. Two phenotypes were found for peroxidase, three for acid phospha
tase and esterase A, four for isocitrate lyase . For malate dehidrogen
ase, esterase D and esterase B, each variety showed a particular pheno
type.
