Abstract
Two different karyotypes of Trichomys apereoides (2n = 30, FN = 54 and 2n = 26, FN = 48) are described, using GTG-, CBG-, RBG-banding and si lver staining techniques. A comparative G-banding pattern analysis bet ween the karyomorphs suggested that they represent two different speci es.
