COMPARISON OF ABO BLOOD-GROUPS FROM 2 SPECIES OF PERUVIAN SQUIRREL-MONKEYS (SAIMIRI-SCIUREUS-MACRODON, SAIMIRI-BOLIVIENSIS-PERUVIENSIS) WITH A NATURAL-POPULATION OF SB PERUVIENSIS-S S-MACRODON HYBRIDS
H. Schneider et al., COMPARISON OF ABO BLOOD-GROUPS FROM 2 SPECIES OF PERUVIAN SQUIRREL-MONKEYS (SAIMIRI-SCIUREUS-MACRODON, SAIMIRI-BOLIVIENSIS-PERUVIENSIS) WITH A NATURAL-POPULATION OF SB PERUVIENSIS-S S-MACRODON HYBRIDS, Brazilian journal of genetics, 16(3), 1993, pp. 661-669
Blood and saliva samples were collected from 44 Saimiri boliviensis pe
ruviensis, eight S. sciureus macrodon and 41 S.b. peruviensis - S. s.
macrodon hybrids. Saliva samples were tested for human ABH antigens by
a conventional hemagglutination inhibition test. The results were the
following for S. b. peruviensis and S. s. macrodon, respectively: A -
32, 2; B - 1.0; AB - 11, 6. Sera samples were used for detecting natu
ral antibodies. A high frequency of discrepancies was found among the
two species in relation to serum and saliva phenotypes.
