Abstract
In numerous studies on aluminum alloys, data have been cited on the va riation in mechanical properties across the thickness of slabs. In thi s paper, we present the results of an investigation of changes in mech anical properties and the fracture-toughness properties of rolled slab s of the 1161T alloy across the thickness and their relation to the st ructure.
