Abstract
The fracture mechanism of the R6M5 steel with different strengths is s tudied as a function of the quenching temperature (1180-1260-degrees-C ). The melt with the normal strength is distinguished by the acrystall ine fracture mechanism over the entire temperature range and, for low strength materials, by the grain-boundary mechanism of fracture above a certain temperature.
