Abstract
Numerical models for computing flows in shallow seas and the applicati ons that have been made of such models to the Arabian Gulf are reviewe d. The physical characteristics of the tidal flow, storm surges, and t he residual flow in the Gulf are summarized and the application of bot h two- and three-dimensional numerical models to the computation of th ese flows is described.
