Abstract
Inhomogeneous motions are discussed within the context of non-linear c onstitutive theories. Deformations set up by time-dependent applied fo rces or displacements are analyzed for an infinite slab of neo-Hookean material and a circular cylinder of a Mooney-Rivlin type. The problem s reduce to obtaining the solutions for simple linear differential equ ations.
