F. Bucci et al., IMMUNOCHEMICAL AND P-32 POSTLABELING METHODS IN BENZO[A]PYRENE DNA-ADDUCTS DETERMINATION, Journal of experimental & clinical cancer research, 15(4), 1996, pp. 357-360
A wide literature exists on DNA-adducts determination since their form
ation represents a crucial step in carcinogenesis. However, it is to b
e underlined that in most studies P-32-postlabelling methods, endowed
with greater sensibility, have been utilized. Instead, in the present
study Authors focused their attention on immunochemical determination
of DNA adducts which does not require radiolabelled materials; moreove
r, it can ben exploited for its capacity of discriminating among diffe
rent types of adducts. Benzo[a]pyrene has been selected for its widesp
read diffusion in the environment and the results of the two methods h
ave been compared.
