Am. Dinallo et al., OBLIQUE-INCIDENCE OF THE ELECTRON-BEAMS - TLD AND IONIZATION DOSIMETRY, Journal of experimental & clinical cancer research, 15(4), 1996, pp. 387-392
The complex dosimetry problems connected with ionization chambers used
in electron disequilibrium conditions for oblique incidence of the el
ectron beams are presented. Depth dose measurements along central axis
show inadequate accuracy in the chamber positioning. This paper claim
s that thermoluminescence (TLD) dosimetry is more suitable to overcome
these difficulties. TLD measurements, angle of incidence 0 degrees, 1
5 degrees, 30 degrees, 45 degrees and 10 MeV energy linear accelerator
, were fitted by analytical functions both for depth-dose curves and o
bliquity factors. The functions fit the experimental values with an ac
curacy of 3.5% for depth-dose curves and 2.5% for obliquity factors, r
espectively.
