Abstract
The fluorescence spectra and thermoluminescence characteristics of thr ee different types of polyethylene polymer were studied. The fluoresce nce spectra were measured at room temperature and the irradiation of t he specimen for recording of the thermal glow curves was carried out w ith beta radiation at room temperature. It is proposed that the observ ed excitation and emission bands and the thermal glow peaks have their origin mainly in the presence of chromophores in the polymer.
