Abstract
Immunological quantification of the thylakoid membranes D1 protein sho wed that in intact leaves of spinach and intact mesophyll protoplasts of Valerianella locusta L. photoinactivation of photosystem 2 was not related to the net degradation of D1. The data indicate a synchronizat ion between the D1 degradation and resynthesis during photoinhibition and recovery in vivo.
