A case of malignant mixed exocrine-endocrine tumor of the pancreas is
reported. Electron microscopy revealed abundant neurosecretory granule
s in most cells. Zymogen granules indicating acinar differentiation we
re seen in a few cells. Ductal features, including microvilli with pro
minent filamentous cores and intracytoplasmic mucin granules, were als
o noted in this lesion. Immunocytochemical stains were positive for se
rotonin and glucagon. Unusual intracytoplasmic fibrillary inclusions a
re described and their possible origin discussed.
