Yr. Romanova et Gi. Aleksandrova, INTERFERENCE AND OVERCOMING THEREOF IN EX PERIMENTAL REPRODUCTION OF 2 INFLUENZA A-VIRUS STRAINS, Voprosy virusologii, 38(4), 1993, pp. 149-152
The interference between two influenza A virus strains was investigate
d in vivo. In mixed infection of chick embryos or mice two results wer
e observed: maximal reproduction of both strains or interference which
resulted in a reduction of reproduction activity, antibody production
, or virulence of one of the viruses. No interference was observed upo
n inoculation of two strains apathogenic for the study host combined w
ith an equal concentration of an infectious virus.
