Abstract
A calculation is presented via the effective-field theory used in the transverse Ising model (TIM) for the Curie temperature of a ferroelect ric superlattice formed from two alternating materials. The dependence of the Curie temperature on the interface coupling strength J(AB) and the layer-number of the two slabs in one period was calculated. Final ly, we compared the results of the effective-field theory with those o f mean-field theory. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
