This article is meant to demostrate the empirical support given to a s
pecific breakdown that is applied to the CUTEQ (Complutense University
Teachers Evaluation Questionnaire) in order to make it easier for its
recipients (professors) to facilitate the interpretation of the repor
ts that assess the teaching quality. 585 students of both sexes and fr
om all the Madrid Complutense University centres completed this evalua
tion instrument at the end of the academic course 1990/91 (on April an
d May). Canonical correlation analysis as well as simple and multiple
regression analysis were applied, and a set of five elements from the
questionnaire itself were used as a criterion. Results obtained seem t
o be in accordance with the initial proposal.
