Abstract
With the help of uniform semiclassical approximations the quantitative connection between classical bifurcation phenomena and the dynamics o f an electronic Rydberg wave packet in the presence of an external sta tic magnetic field is discussed with particular emphasis on nongeneric bifurcations of the Edmonds-Garton-Tomkins orbit.
