Transhiatal herniation of colon is uncommon after transhiatal esophage
ctomy. Two patients with this complication are presented. Presenting s
ymptoms vary depending on the size and contents of the hernia. Patient
s may be asymptomatic The diagnosis is suggested by plain chest radiog
raphy, and treatment, in symptomatic patients, is surgical reduction o
