Abstract
The complexes of N,N'-bis(2-aminobenzimino)ethane with Cu(II) and Ni(I I) have been prepared and characterized by chemical and physical metho ds. These complexes are non-electrolytes. A chemical structure for the se complexes based on elemental analyses and IR data has been proposed . The EPR spectrum of Cu(II) ions in the axial local symmetry of the c rystal field has been recorded. The spectroscopic properties of the co pper complex are explained in terms of the crystal field effect.
