Abstract
The determination of extraction constants is described for various sub stituted analogues of 18-crown-6 using C-13 NMR, when the exchange cat ion/ligand is fast, and H-1 NMR, when the exchange cation/ligand is sl ow on the NMR time-scale. This new method is general, rapid, and requi res samples with only very small amounts of macrocycle.
