Kw. Bennett et A. Eley, USE OF A CHEMILUMINESCENT, UNIVERSAL PROBE FOR IDENTIFICATION OF FUSOBACTERIA, Medical microbiology letters, 2(7), 1993, pp. 354-361
A chemiluminescent probe was used to identify 175 strains representing
nine species of fusobacteria. Using TaqI restriction endonuclease, al
l strains within a species gave an identical pattern - with the except
ion of F. nucleatum, where several patterns were identified. This meth
od may be useful as an identification system with this restriction end
onuclease, but not for typing within a species other than F. nucleatum
.
