Abstract
We construct the harmonic expansions of Coulomb's potential in circula r cylindrical, parabolic, and both prolate and oblate spheroidal coord inates, as alternatives to the well-known multipolar expansion in sphe rical coordinates. These expansions are useful and necessary in the st udy of physical systems possessing symmetries and satisfying boundary conditions associated with the geometries of the respective coordinate s.
