A. Yamashiro et al., A CONDUCTION MECHANISM IN THE NONMAGNETIC REGIME OF DOPED POLYACETYLENE, Progress of theoretical physics. Supplement, (113), 1993, pp. 25-38
We develop a model for the intrachain conduction mechanism in the non-
magnetic regime of doped polyacetylene. We assign as current carriers
superdefects, interstitial solitons and soliton holes, in a pinned cha
rged soliton lattice. The internal strain energy and the Coulomb inter
actions in the system are taken into account by a phase Hamiltonian. V
ariational calculations show that the model gives a rather large activ
ation energy in the conductivity beyond a doping concentration that is
due to the internal strain energy and inconsistent with experiments.
