Abstract
The paper discusses the sulfopropylation of the microbial polysacchari de pullulan with sodium gamma-chloro propyl sulfonate. The reactivity of this new reagent was studied comparatively with that of propane sul tone, their similitudes and differences as alkylating agents being poi nted out; also, the concurrent reaction of alkaline hydrolysis was fol lowed in the reaction media.
