In this article the cognitive-oriented approach in neuropsychological
therapy is presented with a special emphasis on the question of the me
asurement of its effectiveness. The main paradigms which can be used i
n single-case treatments are presented and discussed. It is argued tha
t the single-case approach does not constitute an obstacle to the eval
uation of the treatment outcomes, but, on the contrary, may help to cl
arify the specificity of the treatment effects.
