Abstract
We have investigated the interaction that takes place when palladium i s deposited on amorphous boron. XPS and Auger measurements show that i nterdiffusion and a strong reaction occur between the deposited Pd and the B substrate, even at room temperature. Electron transfer from Pd to B occurs in the resulting Pd boride.
