Abstract
The interdiffusion and alloy formation of Fe/V multilayers has been st udied using hydrogen as a local probe. The results show that the chemi cal composition profile is stable at 423 K. At higher temperatures, in terdiffusion starts. No preferential alloy formation was found at the interfaces up to 650 K. The hydrogen concentration was measured with t he H-1(N-15, alphagamma)C-12 nuclear reasonance reaction.
