Abstract
Cr/Fe bilayer and multilayer films have been grown on GaAs(001) substr ates. Using Lorentz TEM, micrometer-size 180-degrees domains were reve aled and a twist between the in-plane [110] axes of the epitaxial film and substrate has been found. The Cr/Fe bilayer film shows a strong 4 -fold magnetic anisotropy. STM studies revealed that these films have a grain size of about 1000 angstrom.
