Abstract
Co/noble metal (Pd, Au, etc.) multilayer films exhibit large perpendic ular magnetic anisotropy. After annealing in air, the coercivities of Co/Pd multilayer films markedly increased as a result of the formation of Co oxides. On the other hand, for Co/Au multilayer films, the unia xial magnetic anisotropy constant increased as the Co-Au interfaces be came sharper.
