EXPERIMENTAL-DATA FOR MONOMER-ALPHA-OLEFIN-POLYMER SYSTEMS AT 353.15-373.15 K, Theoretical foundations of chemical engineering, 31(1), 1997, pp. 18-22
The liquid-vapor equilibrium in systems containing monomers (styrene a
nd acrylonitrile), solvents (1-hexene and 4-methyl-1-pentene), and pol
ymers (polybutadiene, polystyrene, and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene
) was studied experimentally. The study was carried out by the static
method using the gas chromatographic analysis of equilibrium vapor on
a Multifract F-45 gas chromatograph in the temperature range 353.15-37
3.15 K. The fugacities, pressure, and composition of the vapor were ca
lculated from experimental data on the activities of the low-molecular
-weight components with allowance made for the nonideality of the vapo
r phase using the second virial coefficients evaluated by the Hayden-O
'Connell method.
