Abstract
A new approach to solving the problem for the rate at which the transi ent separation of binary mixtures in a column (closed flow sheet with two vessels) approaches a steady state is proposed. It is shown that t he principle of geometrical similarity fails in a wide range of concen trations. Calculations of transient separations by various algorithms are given.
