Abstract
The long-wavelength structure of the cooperative part c(c)(k) of the d irect correlation function c(k) = c(p)(k) + c(c)(k) is inferred by com paring its known potential part c(p)(k) (Kumar et al., Phys. Chem. Liq uids, 11, 271 (1982)) with a similarly structured part which quite nat urally emerges from the Ornstein-Zernike relation plus the first Born- Green-Yvon equation for the one-component plasma.
