Abstract
Little information is available on the actual costs incurred in identi fying and monitoring the infectious disease status of wildlife intende d for translocation and reintroduction. Accurate cost estimates of tra nslocation and reintroduction programs are essential to make decisions concerning planning and implementation processes. Postproject analysi s of costs and effectiveness will provide the objective data needed by organizations when planning similar projects or determining future fu nding requirements. A simple, systematic, and comprehensive cost accou nting method for projects is presented.
