Abstract
Two hundred seventy-two French-Canadian adolescent males and 286 femal es participated in a study of the relationship between suicidal ideati on and selected personal variables, stress, and social support. Result s of multivariate analyses indicated that suicidal ideation was positi vely related to depression, negative stress, and drug and alcohol use, and negatively related to self-esteem, satisfaction with social suppo rt, and school absenteeism.
