Abstract
A scaling theory for the parallel efficiency of simulations on MIMD co mputers is presented. It is successfully applied to the performance re sults recently reported by Kohring and Stauffer for different algorith ms on an Intel i860 Hypercube. The discrepancies between the measured scaling exponents and our predictions are resolved within the framewor k of our general theory.
