NONLINEAR-ANALYSIS OF REISSNER PLATES ON AN ELASTIC-FOUNDATION BY THEBEM

The fundamental solutions and the boundary element method for obtainin g numerical solutions of nonlinear Reissner plates on an elastic found ation are presented in the paper. The derivation of the fundamental so lutions is mainly based on two of Hu's functions and the resolution me thod of differential operator. An incremental form of the boundary int egral equations is suggested to achieve linearization of the original nonlinear equations. The plate may be moderately thick or sandwich pla tes with (or without) elastic Foundation. Finally, three examples are considered to illustrate the correctness and accuracy of the proposed method.
