Abstract
An optimization technique is presented for the design of two-channel l attice-structure perfect-reconstruction filter banks with powers-of-tw o coefficients. The filter coefficients are represented by a canonic s igned-digit (CSD) code. The proposed technique requires the original o ptimal infinite-precision coefficients as the starting point, and sear ches for the set of CSD coefficients that minimizes the peak stopband ripple. Design examples are given to show that perfect-reconstruction filter banks with good filtering performance can be obtained.
