Abstract
A case of hereditary nephritis with mild reduction of renal function a ssociated with renal tubular acidosis type IV is described. The patien t was admitted with life-threatening hyperkalaemia. To our knowledge, type IV renal tubular acidosis has not been reported previously in ass ociation with Alport's syndrome in an adult patient.
