Abstract
Keys, descriptions, and illustrations are provided to aid in the ident ification of the females, males, pupae and larvae, where each is known , of the eight species assigned to the subgenus Psilopelmia, of the ge nus Simulium, in the contiguous United States. Two species, S. (P.) la bellei, and S. (P.) robynae, are described as new. Remarks concerning the taxonomy and biology of each species are provided, and the known d istributions by state and county are given.
