Abstract
Objective: Description of the syndrome of inappropriate secretion of a ntidiuretic hormone preceding diagnosis of pancreatic cancer by almost 3 years. Design: A single patient case report. Setting: Departments o f medicine and gastroenterology in a district general hospital. Interv ention: Water restriction, hypertonic saline, demethylchlortetracyclin e.Outcome: Patient died from pancreatic carcinoma and hepatic metastas es. Conclusion: Syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic ho rmone may precede the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
