Abstract
A case report of an avulsion fracture of the coracoid process associat ed with a type III acromioclavicular dislocation is presented. The mec hanism of injury and results of treatment in eighteen previously repor ted cases in the English-language literature are reviewed. Both operat ive and nonoperative treatment appear to offer equally favorable resul ts. The treatment of this rare combined injury may follow the same gui delines used for treating isolated type III acromioclavicular dislocat ions.
