Abstract
The absorption spectra of some motor oils in the 25-0.25 mum region, t he fluorescence spectra, the fluorescence excitation spectrum, and the ir variation during the operating life of these oils in internal-combu stion engines are investigated. The design of an instrument is propose d for determining the total quantity of petroleum products in waste wa ters.
