The anodic oxidation of several 2,4,6-tris(dialkylamino)-1,3,5-triazin
es was studied in cyclic voltammetry. The dimethylamino derivative, ''
hexamethylmelamine'', a compound with an antitumoral activity, was sub
jected to macroscale electrolyses; the use of a graphite plate anode p
ermitted a great passivation to be overcome. In acetonitrile a demethy
lation took place, whereas in methanol the successive methoxylation of
the dimethylamino groups occurred.
