Dm. Steinberg, SOME FINDINGS FROM A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF GROUP WORK EDUCATION ON SOCIAL-WORK PRACTITIONERS WORK WITH GROUPS, Social work with groups, 16(3), 1993, pp. 23-39
Results of a recent study comparing the approach to practice with grou
ps of social workers with and without group work education are present
ed, with particular attention to the extent to which their practice re
flects an attempt to develop and sustain the group as a mutual-aid sys
tem. Differences were found among these practitioners, especially in r
elation to the ways in which they viewed and addressed control, confli
ct, and time.
